What is SEO?
SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is the process of getting your site ready for the search engines. It is quite easy to do and will help place your site in the search engines. Many people get websites designed and then forget, or do not know they should optmise it for the search engines.
A few myths:
Build it and they will come – a few years, and even more recently, people were saying open up a website and your site will appear to the world, your customers will be millions of people yada yada yada! Unfortunetly if you build it they will not come, unless you optmise your site. We will discuss this later in this article
Search Engines will automatically index your site – well this is true, but if you have not optmised your site it will not get a high ranking and you will not get any visitors!
Set it and forget it – once you build your site you don’t need to update it. Oh how wrong this is! Sites that rank well in the major search engines know that this is the worst thing you can do! You must keep updating your site. Again there will be more on this later on this site.
